Alexis
December 8, 2008
I’ve been so excited to have been able to do a few seniors lately. I was even more excited to be able to photograph Alexis! Alexis is one of my best friend’s sister. I’ve known Alexis for a few years now and have been blessed to watch her grow up and mature into the beautiful young woman she is today! She’ll be leaving for Missouri soon and I know she will be very missed!
We did most of the session downtown, then headed to Clyde Fant and literally RAN uphill to catch the last 10 minutes of sunset, then finished with a few fun shots at the boardwalk. Alexis is full of life and energy and I think you can see that in the pictures.
Alexis, congratulations on all of your achievements! It’s only the beginning of many, many more! God Bless and I hope you love your images!
Isn’t is so unfair how tall April is?
Doesn’t her smile just scream, “I JUST GOT MY BRACES OFF!!”?
This one is definitely one of my favorites!
Devin
December 5, 2008
I had the opportunity to take Devin’s senior pictures last week and he totally rocked it! We started downtown, headed to Clyde Fant, then over to Haughton high school. The sun was setting while we were at Clyde Fant and by the time we got to the high school, there was zero light. I had a chance to use some of the lighting skills I learned while at Love Affair. It was awesome finally understanding how to use all my equipment to the fullest of their capabilities. I had a blast playing with the lights, but I think I froze Devin to death. he was a trooper!
Devin’s mom, Rachel, came along and had us cracking up the WHOLE time! Seriously, I had a cramp afterwards from laughing so hard! Thanks Rachel! You totally need to come with me to every shoot! 😉 Anyways, we got some awesome shots! The ladies better watch out!
…and then Rachel said something…
This is one of my faves from the day, but I can’t take all the credit for it. I got the inspiration for it from Kelly Moore and Millie Holloman.
I’m loving the harsh light..
Stacy and Dennis
November 28, 2008
Stacy and Dennis were married in a beautiful Catholic church in downtown Shreveport. It was actually my first time to photograph a wedding there and I was so excited! Lately I’ve been very restricted in most ceremonies to only stay in the back of the church, but I had freedom to go anywhere during their ceremony and was so thankful! Unfortunately, I think past photographers have been such a distraction during ceremonies that most ministers prefer everyone to just stay in the back now. It makes me want to just scream, “I promise I’ll obey, just please let me get the shot!” But I can’t, so I make do.
Anyways, Stacy and her bridesmaids got ready at the Petroleum club and the reception followed there as well. THe last three weddings I’ve done have had their receptions at the Petroleum club and I LOVE it! Jennifer Terrel is a great friend of mine and LOVES what she does. She is the best! So, needless to say, I love to work with her. If I don’t have an assistant with me, she fixes me a plate of food and we sneak off for a minute to eat and chat. I just love her!
Stacy and Dennis, thank you for allowing me to capture your special day and I wish you the best of life and marriage!
Dennis bought Stacy a beautiful strand of pearls as a wedding gift!
Dennis plays pro ball, so of course, the groom’s cake had the theme…
Update
November 24, 2008
Hi everyone! I have not disappeared, just been extremely busy! I was in San Diego all last week. I booked a 6am flight to be back in time for a wedding rehearsal at 5:30. Well, the plane delayed twice and I almost thought I wasn’t going to make it. I got back JUST IN TIME to go straight to the rehearsal. Then Saturday, I photographed a great wedding all day. And Sunday the kids were not feeling well, so we stayed home from church in the morning and I had my photo class that afternoon.
All that to say, this has been the first time I’ve been able to even check my email…all 84 of them! I still have two awesome weddings to blog and a few sessions, but I wanted to show you just a little bit from last week.
I am almost two weeks behind on everything right now and am planning to be caught up by this Saturday. So, if you are waiting to see your session blogged or uploaded to the proofing site, please be patient until Saturday and I promise they will be there!
Until then, here are some from San Diego….
The next few images below are from the Love Affair blog…can you spot me in each one?…
Belinda
November 14, 2008
You may remember Belinda from a few months ago. I shot her wedding at The Gazebo in Shreveport. Her and Jay were planning on getting married next year, but decided to move it on up and get married much sooner. So, we reversed their sessions and did the wedding with the bridal and engagement to follow. I always have so much fun hanging out with Belinda! For this session, she even brought her military gear…fun! Here are a few of my faves and their engagement is soon to come!
Jana and Chase
November 11, 2008
This wedding was so beautiful! It was held in Longview, TX at the Belgium House. It’s a home built just for ceremonies. Everything was awesome! The whole upstairs was just for the bride and groom to get ready. The bride’s side was beautiful with plenty of room and the groom’s side was decorated in a 50’s diner style. Too cool! My assistant, Ana, helped me and got great angles and allowed us to be in two places at one time…always nice! Some of her images are mixed in with mine below. Thanks again Ana!!
Jana and Chase…your wedding was beautiful and I hope you enjoy all of your images! It was great!!
Ana was able to get the guys getting ready
…and a shot of me
